Waterfront French Country Home on Geist Reservoir. Located in the Prestigious Gated Community of Diamond Pointe!
Check out all the photos. You will love this incredible location, original French County features seamlessly paired with modern updates and a very spacious main level space that leads directly out to your boat dock. There are 3 French Country homes next to each other in this part of Diamond Pointe which make you feel like you just arrived in a quiet little village in France. The stone on the home fits so perfectly. Simply wonderful picturesque views on this quiet waterfront cove.
It all starts with the circular drive leading to the double doors and two story elegant entry. Next you have a private dining room with a separate butlers pantry. To the left you will find a very large living room with fireplace and several window views to the back yard garden areas and water cove. Next there is a nice library on the way to the Master Bedroom with huge walk in closet and bathroom suite.
On the other side of the home you will see one of the highest cathedral ceilings you've seen with character packed beams, extra large fireplace, breakfast area, open kitchen, beautiful granite, 6 top stove with grill and more. There is a private entrance leading to a large spacious room that can be a great office area, a 5th bedroom, bonus/rec room or more. There is a large storage area beyond that closet to check out.
Upstairs in the middle of the home you will find 3 bedrooms. One has it's own full bathroom and the other two share a Jack and Jill set up, also several storage areas. The 3 car garage is well over 900 Sq Ft. The home is surrounded with all colors of landscaping perennials. Just Bring Your Boat, You Will Love Living On The Lake!!
What a delight it has been to live in this lovely Country home for the past twenty years. We would like to share some of the many things that we have thoroughly enjoyed about this home. From the time we entered the gates of this well-known Geist Community, we felt like we were in another world. We were immediately impressed with this prestigious gated Diamond Pointe neighborhood, filled with elegant, well-maintained homes, on this picturesque, quiet water cove. When we continued down the hill, we came upon a small Cul-De-Sac on the right, surrounded by water with three charming, sprawling, French Country homes. When we turned onto the circular drive, we felt like we had just arrived in a quiet little village in France. We knew at that moment this was the home for us! Now the landscaping is filled with roses and a multitude of colorful perennials, which have all been planted within the past four years. Even the roof is brand new, put on in June of 2020.
When you enter the double doors, you will immediately feel the grandeur of this elegant home. An impressive chandelier in the entry, wood floors, large living room with fireplace, exquisite dining room, and impressive stairway will greet you. Looking beyond that one will admire the many large windows, see the backyard flowers, and enjoy the water views. After you enter the living room, you will then be lured into the library and lovely half bath. You will be astonished when you see the expansive and bright master bedroom (with views of the water and adjoining park like area) and huge master bath.
Another one of our favorite areas has been the upstairs, accessed from the gorgeous entrance area. When you arrive on the second level you will find three bedrooms and two full baths. One of the bedrooms has its own bath, and cozy attached room, which has had many uses over the years. The other two upstairs bedrooms have big closets and share a Jack and Jill bathroom. Each bedroom has its own sink and vanity. One bedroom also has an extra attached room, which has been enjoyed by our children and grandchildren. Above another bedroom, there is a pull-down stairway, which leads to a massive storage area (we refer to it as the “ballroom”).
When you go back downstairs to the large entry area, and go through the double doors you will be welcomed into the impressive kitchen/great room with cathedral ceilings, a gas fireplace, and eating area looking onto the large patio, flowers, and water (we especially enjoy the frequent visits from swans). This area boasts a large pantry, another half bath, large coat closet, and charming laundry room. To the left of the fireplace is another “extra” we love about this home; a second stairway leads to another large living area, which we have found very useful and have thoroughly enjoyed over the years. Hidden behind a door, is another wonderful area found at the end of the room. This extra room has built in cabinets and massive custom shelving. Beyond that finished area is yet another huge storage space! A major feature we have loved about this home has been an abundance of storage.
The over sized three-car garage includes the useful cabinets next to a door, which opens to another storage area. The garage also houses the brand new furnace and 3-year-old air conditioner. The other side of the house (in the crawl space) is another furnace, ac unit, and sump pump, which were all replaced in 2017).
We have adored this home from the moment we saw it twenty years ago. We are hopeful you will find it as alluring, livable and lovely as we have!
